If more than 72 hours have passed since the assault, you still have options.

In Alabama, there is no statute of limitations for reporting sexual assault. In some situations, a forensic exam may still be appropriate after 72 hours, depending on the circumstances. Even if an exam is not indicated, you can still make a report to law enforcement and speak with a forensic nurse.
